Brief Bio-Data

Dr. Y.V.Malla Reddy is the Director of Accion Fraterna Ecology Centre (AF Ecology Centre) located in Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh. AF Ecology Centre is a sister organisation of Rural Development Trust. Anantapur is chronically drought-prone District in South India. AF Ecology Centre has been currently involved in promoting Sustainable Agriculture and training the rural youth in Job-oriented skills. It is working with about 60000 small & marginal farmers and farm labour spread across 230 villages.

Malla Reddy has been working with this organisation for the past 35 years, in various capacities starting from a grassroot social organizer. He has done an MBA and a Ph.D in Human Resources Management. He was a Fullbright Scholar under Indo-American Environmental Leadership Programme in the year 2006. Besides long years of experience at grass root level, he has also been serving in some important policy making bodies of Government related to agriculture and rural development, including as a member in AP State Water Conservation Mission, a member in AP State Land Water Trees Authority, Andhra Pradesh Farmers Welfare Commission, AP State Watershed Advisory Committee etc. He is presently a member of Task Force appointed by the Planning Commission for proposed legislation for the Voluntary Sector. He is in the Board of Many Voluntary Organisations.
